The black forest of cities, New Delhi

Delhi, the capital of the nation, Delhi where the central government resides in the parliament, Delhi which was the start of the infamous ”Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is one of the big cities or metropolitan cities of the country, not only the center of attraction for tourists but also one of the main centers of economy of the country, lets talk about the downsides and the upsides of the city

First talk about its downsides

1. High pollution

The pollution of Delhi is one of its major downsides as there are more vehicles in the city compared to its population as some people have two or more than two vehicles, this also gave rise to the controversial odd-even rule inn the city.

2. High crime rates

Some of the famous crimes in India happened in Delhi as one of the more recent one is the Nirbhaya’s case, this makes the women and girls of the city unsafe even being one of the metropolitan cities and similar incidents occur there which can make a man/women dislike the city.

3. High traffic

The traffic is high, which is similar to the first point as the number of vehicles equals to the excess of pollution which not only diversely affects the population of the city but also affects the environment of nearby cities.

Now lets talk about its upsides

1. Centre of government

The pinnacle or the transforming national government is situated in the city due to being the capital of the city, so one can say many of the major decisions about the nations are taken in Delhi.

2. Unity in diversity

Like the country, the capital city is also the city which denotes the same mindset of Unity in Diversity as people from different cultural backgrounds live there without any difficulties.

3. Easily accessible facilities

Delhi as being a metropolitan city obviously have a Metro Railway system which makes it easily accessible by people nearby the city, and Delhi has one of the largest Metro System in India as Delhi Metro also reaches some parts of the NCR region including the Capital.

So as our topic says Delhi is like a Black Forest Cake as on the outside it has many major downsides like bitter chocolate in the Black Forest Cake but it has many upsides inside it like the sweetness in the cake so this combination is what makes Delhi one of the majorly cool cities.
